WHY MAKE-A-WISH UK

London will be the second marathon in my Ethan Runs for Good journey for Make-A-Wish — following New York in November 2026.

What began as one race has become something I want to build beyond a single starting line or finish line. Make-A-Wish creates extraordinary moments for children and families facing critical illness, and the opportunity to use these miles in support of that work gives the training a purpose beyond the race itself.

Taking that commitment from New York to London feels like the natural next step: another marathon, another city and another opportunity to turn a very personal challenge into something useful.

I’m incredibly proud to be running the 2027 TCS London Marathon as part of Team Make-A-Wish, and I’m asking the community of friends, colleagues, collaborators and supporters I’ve been fortunate enough to build over the years to help me reach my £10,000 fundraising goal.

THE RACE CHANGES.
THE REASON FOR RUNNING IT DOESN’T.

HELP ME REACH £10,000

LET’S GET THERE TOGETHER.

Running 26.2 miles is my part of the challenge. Reaching £10,000 is the part I can’t do alone.

Every donation — whatever the amount — moves the campaign closer to its goal and helps support the work of Make-A-Wish UK.

If you’re able to contribute, I’d be incredibly grateful to have you as part of the journey to April 24, 2027.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

THE ROAD TO LONDON

New York is the first finish line.
London is what comes next.

London doesn’t begin when the marathon training plan starts. The road there runs through New York first — then recovery, rebuilding and another training cycle shaped by everything learned along the way. The months between the two races are part of the journey too: time to absorb the work, reset physically and mentally, and gradually build toward a second marathon with more experience, more perspective and a clearer understanding of what the distance demands.

By the time London arrives, the goal is not simply to repeat what came before, but to arrive stronger, smarter and better prepared for the challenge ahead.

FOLLOW THE JOURNEY

The road to London will unfold one run, one update and one fundraising milestone at a time.

Follow the training, the recovery after New York, the build toward April and everything that happens along the way.

LATEST FROM THE ROAD:

  • LONG RUN MILESTONE
    August 9, 2026
10.75mi long run completed @ 9:02/mi pace. Approximately 1.25 miles longer than planned. Cadence/mechanics work seems to be working as “easy run” pace increasing dramatically with no more effort.

  • FUNDRAISING UPDATE
    August 8, 2026
London fundraising page is now live — and the first donation has been received!

  • NEXT UP
Currently building mileage through increasingly long runs, with long runs reaching 17 miles by September 13, 2026.
